ENVIRONMENT
Peugeot offers a wide range of environmentally friendly vehicles; more than half of Peugeot sales worldwide involve vehicles with emissions below 140g/km of CO2. This performance is underpinned by tried-and-tested technology in which Peugeot paves the way—such as a diesel engine twinned with a particulate filter (unveiled in 2000 on the Peugeot 607), now featured on over 2.1 million vehicles (cutting out 99.9% of particulate emissions)—as well as groundbreaking solutions like Start & Stop technology and the development of a new generation of HDi engines.
FAP
Since 2000, HDi technology exclusive to PSA Peugeot Citroën, has been combined with a high performance emissions system; the Particulate Filter (FAP). Its filter eliminates Diesel particulates by reducing them to a measurable limit (0.004g/km). The FAP is a self-cleaning device used to process the gases resulting from diesel combustion inside the engine.
Energy saving tyres
By optimising the rolling resistance by 20%, this high technology tyre reduces the amount of fuel required to move the vehicle forward and so obtains a reduction in fuel consumption of almost 0.2 litres per 100 km, which is close to 4 g/km of CO2. On average, this relates to approximately one ton less of CO2 emitted during the life of a vehicle.

BVM5 - BVM6 : Manual Gearbox (5 or 6 gears) BVA4 - BVA6 : Automatic Gearbox (4 or 6 gears) *With energy saving tyres **Following 90/100/CE guidelines Fuel consumption figures in the above table correspond to homologated thresholds in accordance with EU regulations applicable to all manufacturers and all private vehicles sold in Europe. These figures are designed to help you compare cars and guide you in your decision: - Urban consumption represents a journey of around 4km in an urban environment. - Extra-urban consumption is based on a journey of around 7km in an extra-urban environment. - Mixed consumption corresponds to a journey of around 11km, based on an average for the two previous categories. These figures are based on strict test conditions (temperature, weight, test bench characteristics, etc.) under very sedate driving conditions. Actual driving conditions, weather, vehicle load, driving style, tyre pressure, use of a roof rack (even the bars alone), excessive use of air conditioning and/or heating, the car's overall condition can naturally produce results different from these homologated figures.
