SAFETY
The Peugeot 308 has only one concern: its occupants, and in short: peace of mind. Its braking and protection systems are derived from the latest technologies in the field so that you and your passengers are protected effectively.
LDWS system
The Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)* detects any unintentional change of lane at speeds of over 80kph and alerts the driver via a vibration system installed in the Peugeot 308 SW seat cushion. *Availability varies according to model
ABS / ESP technology
The braking system on the Peugeot 308 includes anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brake distribution (REF) and emergency brake assistance (AFU). Added to these three systems is ESP (active stability control) contributing traction control (ASR) and stability control (CDS)*. *Availability varies according to engine type.
EuroNCAP
The Peugeot 308 obtained, in 2009, 5 stars in the Euro NCAP* tests for the protection of adult vehicle occupants, which is the level of "excellent" and the maximum that it is possible to achieve. *European New Car Assessment Program, an independent body assessing vehicle safety
Airbags
When impacted, a complete device is activated to protect the occupants of the Peugeot 308. Shocks are absorbed through the collapsible steering column and architecture of the car which limits the intrusion of the engine into the cabin. The front seat belt pretensioners are pyrotechnic devices and up to 6 airbags including a driver's airbag and two curtain airbags, protecting the passengers.
PEUGEOT CONNECT SOS
With Peugeot Connect SOS*, Peugeot has put emergency call services within everyone's reach. Should your pyrotechnic seatbelts or airbags activate, your vehicle will automatically put out an emergency call. Peugeot Connect SOS locates your car, establishes telephone communication with you and requests that the appropriate emergency services be sent out. You can also call Peugeot Connect SOS manually if you are involved in or witness an emergency. *Current available in ten European countries, with a 12-country footprint scheduled for 2011.
