Coupé 407

SAFETY

Anticipate, Warn and Protect. It’s around these three concepts that the 407 Coupé has based one of its priorities: to offer you optimum protection.

Dual function Xenon headlamps

These provide a level of light close to daylight without blinding other drivers. Because a single Xenon bulb takes on both high beam and low beam lights, the changeover from one mode to the other occurs naturally. When you leave your vehicle, Follow Me Home lighting keeps your headlamps on as you walk away from the car.

ABS, ESP

The braking system of the Peugeot Coupé 407 includes the anti-lock braking system (ABS), the Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD) and the Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). ESP® adds a further two functions to the three above: the traction control (ASR) acts on the brakes and the engine management to limit wheel slip in the event of loss of traction, the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) continuously compares information transmitted to the steering wheel and yaw sensor to detect any incipient under or oversteer. It then returns your Coupé 407 to its initial trajectory as far as the laws of physics allow.

Peugeot Emergency Service

If there is an accident, the WIP Com Telephone Navigation system* calls the emergency services. The Peugeot Emergency Service** will pinpoint you, offer you support in the major European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Luxembourg) and send the emergency services out if you need them. *As an option, depending on models. **The Peugeot Emergency Service is available free of charge for a limited period. It requires you to insert a compatible and functioning SIM card into the navigation system and to be in an area where there is a telephone operator coverage.

Air bags

The Coupé 407 has 7 air bags: 2 front air bags (driver and passenger), 2 front side air bags, 2 curtain air bags, 1 steering column air bag*. *Standard, optional or not available according to models.

Directional headlamps

This equipment improves both driveability and safety. Directional headlamps* "follow" corners, pivoting according to rotation of the steering wheel and your speed whether you’re using high beam or low beam lights. *Standard according to models.
